Brian A. Burk
Founder, President & CEO
Brian has been formulating the idea for Healthcare Resources Online for over 10 years. With over 20 years of life science sales and marketing experience Brian began his career as a representative and quickly moved on to hold roles of increasing responsibility, including District Trainer, US Operations Manager, Brand Manager, VP of Sales, VP of Marketing and SVP of Compliance. Brian’s drive to create this healthcare community rests in the desire to combine his background in healthcare with his passion for helping others.
Brian has an MBA from Columbia Business School and undergraduate degrees in Management, Marketing and Accounting.
Brian is a proud father of two and enjoys a wide variety of fitness and outdoor activities.
Co-Founder, Executive VP & CIO
In his role as CIO, Jason oversees and manages site design, development and operations. He also drives all of HRO's technology initiatives, including its many channel partnerships. Jason is the co-founder of HRO and has spent the last 7 years working in the pharmaceutical technology arena. Most recently, he managed the development and implementation of complex information systems for top pharmaceutical clients while with the nation’s premier pharmaceutical program management provider. Prior to that, he spent 3 years as the VP of Software Development for a pharmaceutical marketing company, where he was responsible for systems that both streamlined program management and automated tasks to increase productivity and profitability.
Jason holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and a Master’s degree in Information Systems. He is also a certified Project Management Professional (PMP).
Jason lives in New Jersey with his wife and two children. He enjoys spending time with his family and an occasional game of racquetball.
Phillip A. Templeton, M.D., FACR
Chief Medical Officer
Dr. Templeton is a board certified radiologist and Fellow of the American College of Radiology. Trained as a radiology resident at the University of Maryland and as a Thoracic radiology fellow at the Massachusetts General Hospital, he was Chief of Thoracic Radiology at the Johns Hopkins Hospital and then the University of Maryland Hospital. He served ten years as professor and chairman of Radiology at the University of Maryland and was also a Visiting Scientist and lecturer at the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology. Dr. Templeton served a two-year term as President of the Medical Staff at the University of Maryland where he created the largest electronic imaging department in the United States, became a leader in CT-fluoroscopy biopsy, and crafted numerous successful corporate partnerships with imaging companies. He has served as a member of Medical Advisory Boards to many major imaging companies. He left the University in 2001 to create and become President and CEO of Templeton Readings, LLC, a national teleradiology reading services company which was acquired in 2008.
VP Customer Service
Caren is responsible for ensuring the highest level of customer service. She has over 25 years of recruitment, marketing and sales experience. Having begun her career selling office products and computers to the vertical markets of government, medical and education, she most recently owned and operated a virtual marketing firm specializing in physician recruitment. It was here Caren developed the recruitment and deployment processes for specialized therapeutic teams to drive attendance to healthcare education programs. Caren can create a customer service team that not only anticipates customer needs, but also institutes plans to provide the ultimate experience in customer satisfaction.
A graduate of Boston College, Caren holds a BA in Education. She enjoys spending time with her husband and her two daughters, Martha’s Vineyard and quick weekend jaunts to Atlantic City.
VP Marketing Communications
With over 25 years experience of healthcare sales and marketing, Judy makes sure that every aspect of HRO communications reflects the company’s mission and vision. She began her career as a pediatric nurse, moving quickly into the pharmaceutical market where she held a variety of positions, including sales representative, district manager, product manager and regional trainer. She has served as a consultant to pharmaceutical and contract sales organizations. Her latest position was as General Manager for a medical education start-up initiative where she was responsible for a variety of sales, marketing, operations and business development activities.
Judy holds a BS in Nursing from the University of Vermont. She is married with one son and in her spare time she can be found reading on a beach in Rhode Island or entertaining friends.
